About the Church

What is Kirby-le-Soken Evangelical Church?

Our name tells you a lot about us:

t We are a Church.  We are a local congregation of God's people. We come from all sorts of different backgrounds, but we are united by our common faith in Jesus Christ.  We are a Baptist church in practice, belief and teaching.

t We are an Evangelical Church. The word "Evangelical" simply means good news or good message.  An evangelical Christian is one who believes what the Bible says about the Good News (Gospel) of the Lord Jesus Christ.   We place high value on teaching the Bible in our services, and seek to apply its teaching to everything we do in the church and in our individual lives.

t We are an Evangelical Church in Kirby-le-Soken.  We meet together here in the village for worship, teaching and service.  Nevertheless we are pleased to reach out not just to the village but farther afield, and we are delighted when people visit us whether from the village or beyond.

We are affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), which means that we have links with over 500 churches distributed across the UK, including (especially) others located in the Colchester and north-east Essex areas.

We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO),
registered charity number 1170625.
